Maryland HB 1470 exempts a title insurance producer independent contractor who is the agent of a title insurance producer from obtaining the blanket fidelity bond and
surety bond or letter of credit required under existing law. Instead, the agent has to be covered under the producer’s blanket fidelity bond and surety bond or letter of credit. The new law became effective July 1, 2010.
