Title For Old Car

Question:

  • My uncle gave me a car before I moved to NM.  I am from CA and the car was last registered in California back in the 80's.  He bought the car and received a bill of sale, but never transferred the paper work.  He has written me a bill of sale and I would like to get a title for it.

Answer:

  • This information above will probably be enough.  It would also be helpful to receive a note from the previous owner explaining why the title was never transferred.
